Important Information on the New Local School Governance Teams

Several months ago, a group of parents from every corner of the city came together to figure out why our schools weren’t getting the payments the city, Invest Atlanta, and the Beltline are contractually obligated to make. During that process we met with the APS Board Chair, the Mayor, the City Council President, City Council members, and State Legislators.

After those conversations, it became evident that the people elected to run our city’s most important public institutions cannot find common ground on three issues that require leadership to solve.

On President’s Day (Monday, February 16th), more than 100 parents, students, and taxpayers will come together across our district to march from Atlanta Public Schools headquarters and rally at City Hall. The goal of this rally is to help our elected officials to responsibly address three issues of dispute that remain between our city and our public school system so we can foster a sense of partnership in support of our students, our city & our communities.
